2 AM Reviews
I’ve been a fan of Rybird’s
music from the first day I heard it. The album “2:00AM” is an extraordinarily brilliant achievement on so many
levels. Every song is uniquely different than the others with its own profound, innovative, and tantalizing attributes. Rybird
has the amazing ability to entertain the listener while pushing the envelope of music as we know it. This artist is able to
maintain the delicate balance between advanced technical skills without losing his own unique human touch. His use of instrumentation
and mastery of audio effects is bar none. This man has a powerful vision and has been gifted with the ability to express it
with pinpoint accuracy. So if you haven’t had the pleasure of hearing this phenomenal artist yet . . . get ready to
take a magical journey from your ears to the farthest depths of your inner mind.

17 songs. 17 different viewpoints. Rybird has managed to take the listener on ride in a wonderland
of diversified compositions and powerful ear-grabbing inflections. Quoting the notes found on this page, "Rybird has
shown all his colors...", truer words have never been spoken. 2am defines the hour, the creation and the characteristic
aspects of this master of ambient and techno /electronic music. I've heard no other with the quite the same unique talent
and abstract sense of chaotic precision, an oxymoron to be sure, but I can think of no other way to describe his sense of
order in a vortex of swirling creativity. He takes you "there and back again" to paraphrase a famous hobbit of
the beloved, J.R.R. Tolkien.
The opening track, a favorite of mine, is the epitome of the hour it suggests.
Aptly named, it seduces your senses into that quiet time of the day when all things are possible and the world's troubles
are easily dreamed into oblivion. All can be achieved and every dream is thought away from realization. It has the haunting
night-time transcendence of being closer to another reality while being footed in this one. A stellar performance of reaching
the mood we all wish to feel the other 23 hours of the day, if only that magic would sustain. Other songs on this album that
have that witching-hour ambiance are; "Let me take you to the beach", "Nocturnal" and "Paper Trail",
all smooth rides on the clouds of rolling notions.
Moving toward the daylight of reality and down the tracks
of 2am, the music continues to guide your thoughts in an entirely different direction. From the playful, "Firefly"
to the hard hitting, "One in Seven Twist" you never where this bird will fly. His power to flutter and soar on
many levels keeps this album beating. I recommend listening to all of works, including "Sonic Hooky", "Grind
and Polish", "Dragons and Dragonflies" and "Nativicity" (the latter being another favorite of yours
truly). It's well worth the trip.
